Hays Solar

This 209 MWp pv-solar facility located in Hays, Alberta, Canada is currently in development and will be both a Fortis distribution level, and AltaLink Transmission level connected generator utilizing bi-facial panels with single-axis trackers and a 60 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to feed energy into the provincial grid and power pool. 

The initial permitting for this project is complete and Sage Stone (Canada) a 50% partner in Sungate Energy is working with Proteus Power to co-develop, own, and operate this facility located on Bow River Irrigation District (BRID) leased lands located in the M.D. of Taber. 

The project is expecting its Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) approval in Q4 of 2024 with an expected in-service date in 2026.
